Total Immersion in America

This program is designed for Chinese students to have an opportunity to visit prestigious universities such as Harvard University, Yale University, Princeton University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Duke University. They also have the opportunity to tour New York City and Washington D.C. Students will be placed with an American host family that will help them to learn about daily life, language, and culture in the U.S.

Winter/Summer American Classroom Total Immersion Program

Winter/Summer English Immersion Camp January/February; OR July/August is 2-3 weeks of total immersion for Chinese students. Attendees will accompany local students to classes within the  American school system and study the English language as well as American culture with their partnered students and host families.

World Classroom Program

This program is offered to both elementary and secondary age students. Chinese students may attend for a minimum of 4 weeks to a maximum up to eight weeks.

At the elementary level, the American Classroom Immersion Program is offered to students between the ages of 10-13, for 4-8 weeks.

At the secondary level, the program is offered to students between the ages of 14-18, for a 4-8 week period.

On both levels, the Chinese students will stay and follow the regular American Curriculum and attend appropriate extra-curricular activities

  • Weekly excursions will complement academic components learned through the week leading up to the excursion. This gives students the opportunity to practice oral English, using the language they have already studied during the excursions and afternoon activities

  • Host family accommodations are provided by American Schools (or with CCEC's help) to students 10 to 18 years of age. Students will reside with host families. Host families for students will be strategically located a short distance from area schools.

  • Each weekend will be free time for students to explore their community and surrounding area with their host families, friends and/or CCEC. Students living with host families are encouraged to participate in family activities.
